Cupcakes

Yummy lemon and raspberry cupcakes from one of my favourite places: Sweet Vintage. I love meeting up with my friends and having a lovely pot of tea and sandwich, (as well as a catch up on all the gossip)  then choosing a cupcake to take home for me and the husband!
Do you like my vintage plate that I picked up on my travels? It is Bell China.

The Poppy

                              A red poppy means pleasure

The poppy has a very interesting history and is something that has been around for many years. The poppy flower generally is used as a symbol for people that had fallen during World War I and today it is adopted by the Royal British Legion as a symbol.  The poppy actually is a flower that has a lot of history as opium is extracted from it.  You will see that for a floral meaning, the poppy can symbolize oblivion, but it can also symbolize imagination.

Bell China

Bell China was produced by Shore & Coggins, Longton, Staffordshire Potteries 1911 to 1966.

I wonder if anyone knows the name of this pattern that has been hand painted on this china?

Shore & Coggins Limited produced china ware in their Edensor Works, New Street and the High Street Works, LongtonStoke-on-Trent, England.
The firm dates back to 1887 when it was known as J. Shore & Co. In 1905 a new partnership was formed with Shore, Coggins & Holt, this partnership survived 5 years until 1910 when Shore & Coggins Limited was formed.

Have a relaxing Sunday

Have a relaxing Sunday. Enjoy a cup of tea in your favourite china tea cup.

Sunday, for me, is all about being home with the family with no plans.
